If I have an IP address from a website or a web host, how can I do a lookup on the IP and find all domain names configured or pointing to it?
For example, I have several web and email domains hooked to my server. How can I find all domains that point to it?
Is it even possible?

It is not possible. You can't lookup IP through all nameservers and find domains that point to that particular IP.

Unless those domain have reverse DNS entries (which most don't) then you can't. Their are ways of getting some rough numbers but nothing reliable.

Put site domain name or IP address
Didnt know about this will test it when im home or at the office.

Will this use DNS to find the websites or just using the IP?

Thanks

It is just a test if my websites are hosting with other websites on a same ip or not.

There are many people said they can combine tools and find out all websites that being hosted on an IP address but they didn't reveal their way.

That is because it is not possible. You can't simply query all the worlds nameservers with all domains registered.

To know the number of websites that are hosted on a specific IP perform a reverse IP lookup on sites that allow users to check a reverse IP lookup. If there are websites hosted on the particular IP, then it would be displayed on the results.

You can use http://bgp.he.net you just need to know how to use it to find what you're looking for.

It will not find you all the websites. From more than 200 websites tool found only 36, that is only 18%.

You could try using several of the reverse IP lookup sites, such as ViewDNS.info and others, to try and get a more complete picture of all of the sites that may be on that server, however some of their records may be out of date.

You could use whois.domaintools.com to find all websites hosted on a server/ip
whois.domaintools.com I used this tool a few days ago and found 178 sites on one ip
whois domaintools is not exact, I checked my ip with this tool, while I am having 15 sites on a hosting then it is display this

Reverse IP 1 website uses this address.

It is total wrong.

It is possible only if the sites having rdns entries.
Can you give an example with a site?

Checked and displayed wrong result.
