I have been reading about some control panels lately and have seen these two control panels mentioned several times. I only have some experience with cpanel because my shared hosting uses that one so I don't know about vestacp.
Can anyone explain the main differences between vestacp vs cpanel and maybe which would be better for someone new to most control panels?
Hello
Namerie,
There are many different types of
web hosting control panels out there. Two of the most popular ones are
vestacp and
cPanel. Both have their pros and cons, but which one is right for your
server? It really depends on your specific
needs as to which one would be the
better fit for you.
A web hosting control panel is a graphical user interface
(GUI) that helps you
manage your server without using the
command line. A good control panel will make it
easy to do things like
create email accounts,
install applications, and
set up databases. It will also give you
access to important server information like
logs and
resource usage
statistics.
However, here is a quick rundown of the main differences between the
two:
- Vestacp is open-source, while cpanel is not. It means that vestacp is free to use, while cpanel will cost you a monthly fee.
- Vestacp is more lightweight and simple to use than cpanel. It doesn't have as many bells and whistles as cpanel, but it does the job.
- Cpanel is more feature-rich than vestacp. It has a lot more options and settings.
- Vestacp has a more modern interface, while cPanel's interface is more traditional.
- Vestacp is better suited for experienced users, while cPanel is more user-friendly.
Vestacp is a
free and
open-source control panel that runs on
Linux servers. It's known for being lightweight and easy to use. Vestacp also has a wide range of features, including a
built-in firewall,
website builder, and support for
multiple languages. cPanel, on the other hand, is a
closed-source product, which means that you don't have
access to the source
code and can't make any
modifications. cPanel is
feature-rich but can be more
complicated to use.
So, which one should you choose? If you need a
simple,
lightweight control panel that is
free to use, then vestacp is a good option. On the other hand, if you need a more feature-rich control panel with more
options and
settings, then cpanel is a
better choice.
Thus, I hope the above information helps you to understand the differences between vestacp and cpanel web hosting control panels.
