I have never outsourced myself, though some people i have come across said that it was ok but having dedicated people on your team will help better support your products and services that you offer. Having an in house team will have better knowledge of what you are trying to achieve than someone who you have outsourced the work to. it can be cheaper to outsource but is does it provide exactly what you need.
In some cases yes in other cases no, being personal with your customers with a dedicated team for the business i feel is a better step in the right directions because its more personal and professional to the end customer. The main reason i say that is because as mentioned above someone in house will always have a better understanding of the business model compared to someone outsourced just learning the business and probably guessing the answer unless otherwise stated in any documents you forward to them.
