How many times have you changed your pricing before you found the sweet spot?

What factors do you take into your pricing strategy?
A few times over the years, but pricing strategy should factor;

- experience
- target market
- operation costs
- competition

Have you assessed what has or has not worked? Since you've only joined this year....do have a business in place or about to open? Do you have a business plan?

Welcome WPCycle another old face from the WHT community joins our ranks :welcome:

Pricing does vary between providers, When I was pricing my products I tried to be cheap but to not cheap after researching many different providers pricing structures.
If you are unsure of what pricing to use start a little higher than what you want to charge, it's easier to reduce prices than increase.

I don't think their is a sweet spot I've seen big providers charging £5-10 per month per for a very basic hosting plan and there are plenty of the $1 hosts floating around.

Many times through out the years, there truly is a science behind pricing.

What factors do you take into your pricing strategy?
Competition, Operational Costs and Target Audience are the three major factors.

Pricing is changed periodically due to competition and the economy.

It is always good to review your pricing to give the best value to your customers.

We always review our pricing every year, we don't necessarily always change it, but if our operating costs increase then we try to increase ours fairly while still competing with our competitors.

We don't need to change the price. Just gave some good offers customers will automatically come.

We've only changed pricing model once (to a lower amount) after we optimized our server costs. you should price as low as you can go while still turning out enough profit to benefit you and the company and not cut corners anywhere. This is especially true in the beginning when building up your client base, this is much more valuable long-term. You can increase it later, but don't increase it too many times or your clients may get annoyed. That's our philosophy anyway.

It may happen that one has to change the price for their web hosting plans before they hit that spot which is optimum. Today pricing has to be changed according to the competition, and thus there will be frequent price changes.
