Hello, I have been doing web hosting for quite some time. I have seen many types of web-hosting come and go and I am looking for a new way to give out hosting.

What I have done in the past..


  • Post2Host
  • Advertisement
  • Paid
  • Footer Link (might count as advertisement)
  • Totally Free

Anyone have new idea's on how to give it out?

Agreed. The market is so competitive online that your only real choice is to get "hyper" with your marketing activity. You have to break out of the noise and insert yourself in the market place uniquely. Some of your efforts may have to be done offline.

I am not really looking at the SEO or making money or anything like that. I enjoy doing hosting and just looking for new ways to do it.

Are you looking to provide hosting services as VPS , Shared web hosting or just want to do it for your self .. trying to learn new things ?

Currently gonna start with Shared. I just wanna find new ways to do it, something that would make the client think "wow that is unique and I would love to try his hosting".

well , that is some thing you will have to make research your own. How the market is , how the other companies and your target competitors are providing shared hosting services. what perks you can offer along with the unique addons .

yep exactly, i would start with defining a problem what most of customers have (just read forums, kb of each provider, or just google reviews). And try to come up with something new, what will solve (at least from part) their problem. It could be some missing feature in a basic package or some cool combination of services (take this really as an example - package where you will get VPS for free if you buy this dedicated server). But there is another important aspect of selling your product and that is support, if your support is knowlegable and they are willing to help customer (not to blame him about the fault) you are a winner. All customers are people and if they feel comfortable with company they don't mind about paying more for good quality with quality provider.

Give your new customers 1 free kitten, then 2 more free kittens every month they stay on. What most people fail to realize is that kittens solve every problem. Youll be the only one doing it trust me. And for every customer that does not sign on you will throw a kitten out of a window. This will make the prospect consider the cost-benefit analysis of your offer.
