Hello ForumWeb.Hosting !

I share with you what I have found yesterday. Some of you should have already seen the .tk domains by browsing google.

And if I already now they offer free domains, it was only redirection domains. But the company Freenom offer now 5 extensions, and it's real domain name as you can use them with cloudflare.

I haven't read totally their TOS but you have to know you can renew your domain only in the last 2 weeks before his expiration and I don't recommend you to use a free domain for any kind of work, but to run test, or just to use it instead of IP for a VPS it's really useful.

I have got a .tk domain in the past but when I built website on it, they added their banner ad on top header of my site. It still can happen for free domains at this time?
It's the reason why I left free domain services and go for paid domains.

I never liked using "free" domains. There's nothing as professional and powerful as a TLD!

Freenom is cool, but it is a free domain extension and depends whom sees it may feel weird about the extension.

You can get free domains with hosting plan.
There is lot of hosting providers who offer that, even you can have it "free" for time you use their hosting.

I only use free domains for non business personal test/temporary sites and such.

I used dot tk in the pass and never had ad. The only time I had ad is when I chose a free hosting provider that placed an ad on my every page. Not bad though, the company that provided free hosting must make money some how. They taking a huge risk that you do not have any traffic to your pages.

Most of the extensions like this that can be had for free are not always the best choice for a business/company website or one that you are serious about because the free extensions tend to get a lot of use by spammers and scammers.

The other thing is that most people will not be familiar with these extensions and that could cause them not to trust the website built on it.

I got some domains from freenom don't remember extension. It was all good until when i need to use FTP, imagine FTP client can't connect to domain.

And there is lot abused free .tk and alike domain names.
Use it just for testing purpose.

As I know that there's no way for you to get free domain. You can get free domain .tk at the registrar dot .tk , it's the most common free domain registrar you can use now.

Another way is to register hosting with coupon (usually $1/mo, then $12/yr) and receive free domain .COM. But this will give you free in only 1 year, not for lifetime and you need to renewal it after 1 year with the regular price.

You cannot trust freenom because they take domain from you when you get good traffic, also i can say that most of the people do not trust those domains, and hard to get them on google.

Lifetime free domain names are not good for website. These free domains are not good value as compare to other domain names. If you want to improve your website traffic then choose a short and simple domain name with more than one year registration.

A free domain for life doesn't make any sense to me. Also, with the extensions they are offering, I wonder how effective they would turn out when it comes to promotion point of view and people seeing them as a valid entity.

First time when i used to register a free domain that was dot.tk later they move to freenom, .tk is their famous extension.
Many of clients use freenom.

The first website I owned, had a .tk domain and had no problem with popping advertisements or adding extra banners. It's a good domain if you're not really looking for big earnings and/or don't care too much about not being super professional and have a .com domain. Let's say it gets the job done according to your necessities.

Of course for testing websites, these domains are great, you can do several changes on them and see how it looks without risking on changing your main website.
