I used some shared hosting packages from different companies but never faced with these problems, I used addons domains and I can add more as wanted.

You should contact the hosting provider before purchasing a package to be sure you will get suspended by their terms.

Shared hosting isn't a solution anymore as you can have small client with only 1 website and which no resource usage, and someone with the same price with a huge website and thousands of mysql queries per hour.
There are no way for hosting service to really limit usage. With VPS it's still a shared server, but resources are allowed by user.

Hosting provider creates a shared hosting plan from the dedicated server mostly hence allow to host multiple sites on a single shared server. If you are not allowed to host more than a 1 website cause it is the limitation set by the provider. You can either upgrade to higher hosting plan where it allows to add more domains or ask to increase the limit by paying more whatever suitable options available.

There are reseller plans where you can add unlimited domains OR go with the low budget VPS plan where you get the root server access without any limitations to add domains.

I agree a dedicated should be able to run a big amount of website, but with the shared hosting, you have to trust the hosting provider about how much website he store in the server. And it's worth with reseller plan with unlimited domains.

Exactly, I have some websites hosted with Hostgator in the past and I got suspended when its traffic increased over their limitations. I had to contact them to open site for backup files and left their host later.

What about dedicated resource, it is still a "shared server"?

I made use of some shared web hosting packages from various companies but never confronted with these complaints, I made use of addons domain names and that i can also add more as wanted.

You need to contact the host company before buying a bundle to be certain you're going to get suspended by their terms.

It is always suggested to contact sales or technical department of whichever xyz hosting company you are choosing regarding maximum number of addon domain, sub domains etc. This applies only if there have not stated it with price listing. Usually higher packages go straight to unlimited domain addon by some providers.

Secondly for clean traffic and avoiding unnecessary traffic related issue, setup cloudflare or other similar service. Using such service bring down bots/bad traffic more than 80% which reduces your hosting resource consumption.

Good luck on your project. Cheers

Thanks you guys, I will keep these advice before choosing a shared hosting company.
Seem cloudflare is a must for all kind of shared hosting to reduce load on websites. I am not wrong on this.

Some providers provide 1 website to unlimited websites with inodes limits.

But if you want to host more than 1 website and your websites are small without too much traffic then go with a reseller hosting. It's safety to have different cpanel for each sites.

But if your sites are big and getting lot of traffic then you go with VPS or dedicated

Hi,

If your hosting provider has provided you addon and subdomains, you can host mutiple subodmains and multiple websites.

But ensure you put websites contents in proper folders.

you can host as many as your hosting provider allows (addon domains). but before that check TOS and AUP.
you can put 100 simple websites on the same sharing hosting and everything will be ok, but also you can put two heavy sites and get suspended.

It coud happend that you added a parked domain and set that domain as primary domain. So then you have added multiple domains on one account. You can check if you have other you should using one of these options from the members.

How many websites you can host with single hosting account completely depends upon your hosting provider and your plan selected from them.

Not all web hosting companies allow the same amount of websites on their shared web hosting packages. The amounts that shared hosting providers allow will range from 1 to an unlimited amount of domains.

On a shared hosting plan there is one thing that you need to keep in mind. Just because a host allows a certain number of websites that doesn't mean that you should have that many websites on that hosting service. If you have too many or some websites that are resource hogs then that can affect the performance of your websites because you have used up all of your RAM as an example.

This is why you always want to ask any host that you are thinking of using about the amount of RAM and other resources, these amounts can vary widely from host to host.

Various web hosting providers have different shared hosting plans that have a different magnitude of features. Thus while signing up for a webhosting plan, it is advisable to know the CPU resource or inode limitation if any.

Try looking for hosting providers that use CloudLinux as their OS, that way you won`t get suspended if you reach the usage limit set for your account. However, if you reach that limit, you'll notice a slowness caused by LVE limits as your account will be throttled.

This is completely up to the provider. Hosting plans are simply a basket of hosting resources defined and limited by quotas. A provider can allow 1, 2 or an unlimited number of sites under a single hosting plan. One business model has hosting plans not divided by things like disk space, mailboxes, bandwidth, etc but simply by number of websites hosted. But keep in mind, total server resources allocated to a hosting plan may remain constant no matter how many sites are hosted under that single plan.

I quite agree with this opinion, it depends on the provider that you are using, just make sure that you need to ask them before purchasing a shared plan how many sites you can host with them.

Some host limit the number of websites/Addons you can have per account.
While addons range from 1-Unlimited, for security and stability issues, some host limit them.
With addons, you can add additional domains and create separate websites for each domain, but they are all managed from one control panel.

Shared hosting is most of the time subject to fair use. Your provider may suspend your website in case of high usage in bandwidth, disk or exceeding processes limit . So providers target to host websites that doesn't have much traffic. these website are business website to represent a company, shop, small business. if you are looking to run a ecommerce website that could have high volume of traffic then you may need to have VPS or a dedicated server. Nothing is unlimited on earth even. Our resources are limited and we have to save it for future usage.

In regards to your problem , most hosting provider limit the amount of resources and feature that are offered to allow for scalability of there products. This may be used to engage your level of consumption so that you can find a higher plan that can fit your needs and the hosting provider gets more compensation for new resource limit.:rolleyes2:. If you find you hit a limit in shared hosting then it time to move to a higher plan. What I recommend is engage with your provider or new one to determine what you need before running to a vps. Even though it a shared hosting option it has more cost and time management associated to it, ie cpanel license. Also remember as a website grows it will need more resources, you will need to focus on offsetting that with ads or eCommerce eg.
