Need help to create site to sell web hosting packages

Hello, I want to buy a reseller web hosting and start creating a site on my domain to sell hosting packages and show products. I don't have a lot of experience on creating type of this site. Can you tell me how to do that or which script should I use? where do I need to find a good one?

Have you considered using a template?

You will also need a billing and automation system. Most hosts use WHMCS. Take a look at that. You can simply install it , setup your account and packages and be ready to go. Then you can also look around for WHMCS templates to change the look of your site.

Yes you will find many templates for WHMCS at themeforest and codecanyon. But make a good business plan before starting a project like that. There are so many offer in web hosting and so many webmaster with awesome skills to manage a business like that. You have to be sure you can really make money with it.

I saw more web hosting sites are using same themes, I thought it has a place to provide this.

Reseller is a good option, it will help you alot if you are start up and doesnt cost much and has much more features than you can offer if you were to use VPS/Dedicated to start hosting company.

In regards to building the website, you can always purchase a ready theme or just create a HTML template. (as this is the front page, it just needs to look pretty and attractive to customers e.g. user friendly, easy navigation etc)

for the backend (automation service) i suggest you use WHMCS, its very easy to use and has tones of features and plugins if needed.

I need detailed steps to create websites for selling hosting packages.

I would like to learn to create the website although I know it's difficult to compete with other hosting companies out there today.

If I buy a HTML template then it will consume more time to make it as dynamic site. I don't think this is a good idea.

No, as you will not edit your offers daily, a good html template and a CRM solution like WHCMS or another is easier to setup than a WordPress or any other dynamic website.

The first step is to learn how create a website. But you can start in html, it's not required to have a fully optimized php website to start.

I suggest use html site eg buy from themeforest, another time easy to integrating any billing hosting.

A hosting template alredy set sell hosting, only need to change text, image etc.

I'd just signup to a provider who offers WordPress via Softaculoous or includes the new SiteMush Website Builder and build your own web design. Alternatively, I know of some good web designers who can make you a custom web design if you're interested, if so, just PM ME.

Another option is not to have anything fancy and just use WHMCS itself to sell the plans to friends and family, and when it starts to do well, you can then think about reinvesting the money by spending it on a better web design, etc.

I see so much of these "template" sites these days. To be honest if your going to be a hosting provider you should have the technical knowledge to put your own website together.
Knowledge of web design will also help you support customers, I'm always answering little questions about CSS PHP and HTML that most hosts would not even help with, even tho I don't have to and customers are always grateful for the help I would think if a hosting provider cannot even make their own site what other technical knowledge are the lacking, it's just not good for the image.

But if you are going to go the template route I'd pick a front end for WHMCS over a wordpress solution.

In my opinion if you want to customise your site to be unique from the rest of the other site, you can draw out your site. Produce your own control panel or integrate other control panel within your website.

This is really hard to explain on one forum post. In fact this can be a one chapter book. I can however simplify this down into a general term. All control panel must interact with your browser through POST and GET request. Thus if you can program your site to use PHP, Ajax, Perl, CGI, Python. You can have a website script automatically patch into any control panel platform and create or delete account on criteria. This is limitless. You can secure the connection between your website and the control panel server using SSL. If you are more advance you can use IPSec tunnelling which will produce double level security. However this will require a lot of configuration. This however can cost you zero dollar on setup if you know how to do it all.

The other viable solution is always, purchasing a control panel software from someone. The popular packages that I seen lot of people mention are Cpanel or Plesk for server management. WHCM for billing or you can even use Box Billing, to be honest any digital billing software will work as long as it can let you have a hooks call depend on how the user are interacted.

The other solution are always that if you purchase a re-seller account, the hosting provider above you probably offer a white-branded solution. Which mean you can give them a template and they will customise the platform for you base on the template. However these type of account about 10 years ago can cost up to $700 dollar. It must be a lot cheaper now since everyone compete for client base and auto process by script also made everyone life easier.

You can use a template with WHMCS or similar, or you can learn to code it yourself. You could also hire a dedicated team of web developers if you can't do it yourself, this last option would probably get pricey.

Just buy whmcs and a reseller account and go from there 50 dollars a month would cover the bill all the best

I recommend you to start selling cPanel Hosting Packages then other products.

Buy Domain Name
Buy a Midlevel VPS around (10 to 15 USD ) you can get a decent one.
Ask your VPS provider install Cpanel they will install Of course you have to pay the monthly fees for Cpanel license
Next thing Buy a WordPress theme ( related to web hosting ) you can find many at Envato around 50 USD
Buy WHCMS license with installation + Integration with WordPress ( it will be around 100 Usd for the first time next monthly fees which is 15 USD.

Now start selling web hosting.

Hi David! I myself was trying to put up this kind of business before, and it gave me lots of frustration because I need to learn lots of things. Even though I know a little bit of this and that but still it took me months to say it quits. But if you just get someone a third party like a freelancer and tell them to make you this website which is also easy for you to control after they made it. I suggest you go to www.upwork.com or www.freelancer.com you can pick someone who will ask a small fee and look for someone who has a lot of experience or portfolios you can view. You save lots of time, you won't have lots of frustration and stress and you will be able to see your site already up in 2 or 3 weeks. I hope this has been helpful for you.
