Alright, I have bought domains just for the sake of it. I admit it. :D

One that I have is ridebiz.com

I thought it was interesting for a cars/motorcycles related site. But, I coudn't care less about any of them, so the best I can do is to build it and flip it, I think...

What would you do if you had this domain? How to make it into a business?

In my opinion a site is a site is a site. Once you get past the idea of "Topic" and start looking more at "Process" you get away from these inner conflicts. I would say that ridebiz.com screams motorcycle in general - do a search for "ride biz" and see what I mean. I would straight up turn this into an amazon affiliate site and run with it. The whole flip thing puzzles me. if I am going to develop a site, I want the long term revenue.. why hand it over to someone else for peanuts?

Once you have the concepts of site development, List development, and Traffic development under your belt, the topic really doesn't matter. This type of thinking allows you to get into "niches" that you normally wouldn't think possible, and more importantly more profitable. Motorcycles by the way is pretty profitable.

So now you are saying.. but I have no interest in the topic, how am I going to write content... The answer is research. I use texture.com as a point of reference. full access to many magazines / many topics for like $10 a month or something. Create a facebook page and start following peers in the industry you are working with, get content and other ideas there, watch trending graphs like facebook and huffington post have.

Goto your local shops and get them involved in your project. Go in, takes some photos ( original content ) talk to the guys / gals about good beginner bikes. Equipment needs.. basically INTERVIEW them. I have in many cases gotten these types of scenarios to produce content for me... Ill trade a link to a website for a regular flow of content any day of the week! LOL

Again, its all about the process.. what does it take to be successful online and make money online? Content, Traffic and a niche that shows potential for profit.

Wow, savidge4, awesome post. I like the way you think. We think alike in that I have several dozen smaller sites which are based on topics that I either don't know anything about (well, didn't when I first started them at least) or have absolutely NO interest in what so ever. Yet through basic research, I've been able to turn them all into virtual ATMs by building up traffic, a small following and then promoting various affiliate offers as well as by selling ad space on a few of them as well.

When you're running an online business, many people believe (myself included) that you have to love what you do and have a passion for it.

And because of that, most people are not willing to think outside their comfort zone.

BUT, the bottom line is ... If you love making money, there are TONS of niches out there that you would otherwise have no interest in, yet, they can make you very very comfortable, financially speaking.

Use it for your website with relevant content. Can you make a motorcycles wallpaper site and point the domain to? If you have no Idea on how to use them, you are inevitable to sell them.
