Are there any guidelines to make URLs friendly for SEO? Do I need to have a function to remove unnecessary words like SEO by yoast applying in wordpress cms?

How many words in a URL is enough or good for SEO?

Yoast will have you screw a site right up in 2015. The new quality Panda filter checks for URL, Meta, and descr including the keyword and its bad news.

So as far as URL structure

refrain from using emd or exact matches in the URL at all.

I usually structure my url like this

Code:
www.doman.com/category/page

I disagree with that. I always use the keywords in my URL structure.

It is a fairly significant positive ranking factor in Google.
