One of my clients is a web developer and he's a very active entrepreneur. Recently he was chatting with me about one of his ideas for selling mobile site design.
His plan was:
1. Use some software to check whether a site was mobile friendly and grab the email address
2. Send the lead to a personal page with a mobile simulator to show their site in its mobile unfriendly state.
3. The lead then fills out a questionairre and he outsources the web design.
My question is, does anyone know what this software is and if this is a viable business to get into?
I get that this is probably a numbers game so lots of leads will eventually result in sales, but then I read this thread:
http://www.webmastersun.com/threads/7244-Which-software-to-find-local-leads where ericplotz was talking about hiring people to get the leads. I'd love to know what kind of conversion rates were being achieved with this to give me an idea of how successful this could be.
