Cloud computing has evolved enormously in recent years, including concepts such as the hybrid cloud, referring to environments that use both public and private cloud services and thus meet the needs of companies that need to adapt to the requirements of your customers.
Actually there are only two types of deployments in the cloud: public and private, but most companies will use a combination of private computing resources (located in data centers and private clouds) and public services. The mixture of these two environments is what gives rise to a hybrid cloud.
Public cloud
The public cloud is a set of servers, networks, storage, services and applications that are owned and controlled by a third party but made available to other companies or individuals. These commercial providers create highly scalable data centers hiding the details and complications of this infrastructure from their customers.
Public clouds are viable because they offer storage and computing services by optimizing their hardware and software to adapt to these specific tasks.
Private cloud
The private cloud is a set of servers, networks, storage, services and applications that are owned and controlled by a company and made available to its employees, partners and customers. It can also be that this infrastructure is created and managed by a third party that makes it available to a specific company exclusively.
The private cloud is a controlled environment and is not open to public use. Thus, its resources are always located behind a firewall and there is usually a high degree of automation in its management and security.
Hybrid cloud
The hybrid cloud is a combination of private cloud together with the use of some public cloud services , where there are some points of interconnection between both environments. The objective is to combine services and data to create a unique, automated and well-managed environment.
In any case not all uses of private and public clouds can be considered hybrid clouds. Only those that add value when used together would fall into this category.
I hope this info helps!
