I am having a plan for a new site which will target audience in UK but it comes from domain name first, i need a .uk domain but I searched and they are just offering .co.uk not .uk. Why? does any one know reasons?

.co.uk is mostly recognised just like .com hence them being the most often offered - But 95% of companies should be offering .uk, I am sure NameCheap does.

I think the dot co dot uk thing started to make it sound close to dot com. There are other national tlds which use the same configuration like dot co dot th for Thailand and dot com dot my for Malaysia. It all boils down to a matter of personal choice.

I have just checked. Confirmed. You can get dot uk from Namecheap. Just $7.58.

You cant also setup a .uk domain without first owning .co.uk domain. You could potentially use both, but you'll need both .co.uk and .uk
