I had several websites hosting on a Openvz VPS but I heard that Virtuozzo is better and more stable. Can someone give me a bit more information about Virtuozzo, what is it and how to know if I am using it?

Hello @djsmiley2k. Virtuozzo is built on OpenVZ, but it may provide more feature because it's a paid software.
However, you should look for full-virtualization like KVM, which provide a better isolation, and are less oversold than container virtualization.

You can use following commands
Virtualization technologies

VMware Workstation

[email protected]:~# dmidecode -s system-product-name
VMware Virtual Platform

VirtualBox

[email protected]:~# dmidecode -s system-product-name
VirtualBox

Qemu with KVM

[email protected]:~# dmidecode -s system-product-name
KVM

Qemu (emulated)

[email protected]:~# dmidecode -s system-product-name
Bochs

Microsoft VirtualPC

[email protected]:~# dmidecode | egrep -i 'manufacturer|product'
Manufacturer: Microsoft Corporation
Product Name: Virtual Machine

Virtuozzo

[email protected]:~# dmidecode
/dev/mem: Permission denied

Xen

[email protected]:~# dmidecode | grep -i domU
Product Name: HVM domU

On bare metal, this returns an identification of the computer or motherboard model.
/dev/disk/by-id

If you don't have the rights to run dmidecode then you can use:

Virtualization Technology: QEMU

ls -1 /dev/disk/by-id/
