I'm the owner of HosttoIP and my site is a feature to convert alphabetical IP Address to Numerical IP Address. I want to know how to get massive amounts of traffic and sign up's for a web hosting service. Please don't give me the baby stuff because I've been online since the beginning. I want to know exactly how to generate massive amounts of traffic FAST. Also, I could use some good tips, so please feel free to share your experience.

There is no "FAST" way of producing a lot of traffic unless you advertise or get fake/paid traffic.
What people mistake when starting or promoting web hosting services is that its going to be "FAST", As the industry is so competitive, you are required to put in a lot of work and effort over time.
As you say you have been on the internet since the beginning, and you should know short cuts do not work with such services.

One thing that we have not tried but are looking forward to trying is social media. social Media is massive and is fast growing which is why we will be investing time and effort in to it.

Hi Zarko

Thats the million dollar question, if we could all do that I would be buying a lambo and filling it with cash : )

You have three primary sources of traffic Google, referral sites and direct requests.
Sadly these days their is no way to cheat google, SEO is a subject with much depth but the bottom line is it takes time, backlinks from relevent sources and good site with relevant content and keywords before you will see any decent traffic from Google, these days it takes time before Google will 'trust' your site and start moving you up the listings.

As @Luxin said social media is great for advertising, get on facebook, twitter and Google +. Google will see all this content and it will benefit your SEO.
Try to market your services to friends, family or people that you work with. Word of mouth is way more powerful that anything else. Building traffic is a marathon not a sprint.

Stay away from paid backlinks and other shady techniques, Google know all about the little tricks people use and will give your site a penalty if it finds anything it doesn't like.

The old saying "slow & steady wins the race" comes to mind.

You could spend a lot of money on advertising and may get a lot of traffic and sign ups, but then your starting off 'in the hole' after paying the marketing expenses.

You could run some super cheap deals to bring in more sales, but again, you won't be making much money that way, and having super cheap prices attract spammers & hackers.

If you want to succeed in this business, it takes time and effort. Focus on (in order):
Develop your business plan
Optimise your website and make sure it is user friendly
Spend time in well know forums to get your name out there
Work extra hard to keep your customers happy so they will refer others to you.

Once you have a decent number of customers organically, then you can start spending money on advertising, etc

Best of luck to you!

Advertisement like in public forum, social media adverts, e-magazines, etc works wonders. Such brings organic traffic. Going for paid referrals, backlinks and other black hat seo methods leads to bad traffic and no sales/profits.

Focus should be on quality of advertisement rather quantity because once you made a image of your product, It would tend to last.

Good luck on your project. Cheers

Best way to promote webhosting will be on public forums where you get 100% targeted visitors. Next way is paid however "Google Adwords" is good in terms of making reputation as well as clicks on your website

The only way to promote your hosting company is via hard work.

Its not worth paying for traffic or fake twitter followers etc its more of a vanity thing

I would say start advertising in the local area. Then move online and get people talking about you in forums and online.

I wont bother spending money on services such as adwords yet

Agree with the all replies. :) Your hard work and public posting will generate the traffic on your website and business too. Your website should be easy to handle and contain the detailed information.

You can grab the customer by advertising on social media. You should add the customer feedback on your website because new visitors used to read the review on site of previous customers. You must include the knowledge-base, how to articles and blog on site. You can start posting on forums too.

After grabbing 50% customer, you can pay of the advertising.

Initially we should spend more on marketing like adwords , wht etc and the whole world should know about your company. Once you start getting clients, you need to ensure that you provide best service and your clients are happy with you.
To make this happen, we need a fully dedicated person who can knew the heartbeat of your company and the hardwork should improve your business. Support team has the main role in keeping your clients happy. Always choose the best team to work for your company. Along with this, if you can get a good review on public forums such as WHT from the happiest clients, that should be a great promotion for your business. Word of mouth if another pillar in terms of promotion. Also, you can promote affiliates and that should motivate your clients to get sales for you.

Hi Zarko.

It is ineffably nice of you to have bought to the attention to those of us who otherwise may not even have known that our alphabetical IP (Internet Protocol) address could indeed be converted to its numerical counterpart. Essential to know due to the fact that world-wide IP usage is often alphabetical without realizing that a numerical usage of the same IP could also lead us to where we would like to be online, and in a flash. I must say, too, that it is nice that we agree that this also applies to the massive amount of traffic as well; very nice.

Hi CrazeHostBee.

You were extraordinarily correct with noting the fact that when advertisement is done in an appropriate fashion, it works wonders not only in one aspect, yet in multiple aspects such as social media and e-magazines. This is great because advertisement is a part of marketing, plain and simple. In Marketing, there is no special formula that we know of that works the same for all businesses and all individuals; some advertising tactics that work for some may indeed not work well for others. Also, you were greatly right in noting your similar point of view that quality instead of quantity is what assists with the image; fantastic trait of thought.
