Managed Hosting vs. Self-hosting?

I am owning both managed Hosting and self-hosting, I found each one has its advantages but could not clarify reasons why...

When you need a hosting for your sites, your options fall into two types, managed hosting and self-hosting, according to your views, which is better and helping your business?

If you are technically sound then self hosting good for you else always prefer managed hosting, it will save your time and you can concentrate on sales

If you have both then the answer is which one you feel best with is really the answer.

If you feel like paying the extra cost for managed and you are good with managing it your self / then your choice would be go with doing it all your self.

If you just need help from time to time / then go with self managed and pay for an outsourced support team / such as USA based Platinum Server Management or your choice of others.

I have to agree with yo on this. For any business sites, we should use managed hosting then it will save our time to do other things than self hosting.

I can not estimate how much will we pay extra fee for a managed hosting over unmanaged one?

I just think it can be added $15 to $20 for managed hosting if we go with this service.
