How does it work if I put an optin form within an email? is it possible?

Please share your experience if you have tried this method before.

Yes, I have done it. For example, I had a main newsletter list and within their emails, I would embed a signup for the weekend newsletter with bonus savings.
I use mailchimp, so to do it I just created an embedded sign up form and pasted it into my campaign.
