Once a blog gets off the ground with hundred of posts, it's not so hard to convince people to join for commenting or visiting your blog daily . But initially, with few blog then it's going to difficult to get blog commenters or visitors onto a new blog as nobody wants to join a blog just a few posts. So how do you find those first few visitors and blog commenters who will visit your blog?

A few suggestions might be:

Invite your social network friends to post
Hold a content contest
forum posts marketing
Pay for advertising or banner ads on high traffic sites
Buy sponsor posts on other sites to promote your blog

Please suggest other ways to get your first visitors to your blog!

Many bloggers have nice list of posts but also facing terror of low traffic to their blog because their posts are not optimized or posts are not informative as it should be.Unique article, catchy headline and optimized text & images convince Google to ranking website higher in searches and readers to share on social media.

The most difficult and efficient way to attract visitors to your site is Organic traffic. It takes time, nevertheless it can get you tons of valuable traffic and conversions.
I was using twitter and Facebook groups to share my posts and get it publicized.

Hi Tim,

Getting started is the hardest part.
In my opinion you should not focus on getting traffic, but focus on persisting in what you're doing.
Many people give up at the point when they made a few posts and don't get any traffic to their site.
See your startup as an investment in your future. Don't expect people to visit your blog when you just started. This sounds hard, but it's reality :).

It's important that your blog is your passion and not your work. Just continue writing posts of value and you will see that when your first visitors arrive they want to follow you (don't forget to add an option on your website to follow you). Enjoy what you are doing and you will see that you're blog will be noticed by others. Think about those blogs with hundred of posts. They also started one day and continued in what they where doing. Again, i believe persistence is the first answer to your question.

As far as getting traffic, you could consider facebook advertisement or any other form of advertisement to a squeezepage on your blog where you give some of value to your visitors in return of their email adress.
Every time you post a new article you can email your list, and this way you will get your true followers.

Ofcourse this is one of many ways to gain traffic.

Good luck, and persist in what you're doing ;-)

All the best!

My first visitors were my family and friends, then from Facebook and Google+, then I started writing guest blogs. All the time, I was writing, writing, writing. It is so true what Tim Dutch said, your blog should be your true passion. It's a whole different perspective.

Even when you have a hundred posts, that by itself isn't going to make your blog take off. You need something different than that. You need to give people a reason to want to come to your site in the first place and a reason for them to come back to your site if that is your goal. Just because your blog has 100 posts on it is not a reason. You could have 100 posts of crap. People won't want to come and Google won't want to send anyone there and you certainly aren't going to get any visitors from honest referrals.

If you want to get your blog off the ground then either

1) create something really useful that people want to read or
2) create something really entertaining or
3) go build a bunch of friendships the old fashioned way by introducing yourself to new people online

People are not going to visit your blog in droves unless it is really, really good. What really happens is you get a tiny bit of trickle traffic at first. Then if your blog is either informative enough or entertaining enough, then people will stick around a little while, maybe tell someone else about it and maybe come back to read some more another day.

You can kick start that process by building some friendships with other people who spend time online. Just go make friends. Ask them to visit your site. They will. Then ask them to leave some comments on your site (if you want comments). They will. And if your blog is good enough, then your friends will tell their other friends about it. If your blog sucks, then nobody is going to tell anybody about it regardless of how many posts you have or how many friends you try to make.

Start by creating something that you really think people will want to read. Then go start making friends and building deep friendships with other people. That will work almost every time.

You have to create a marketplace for people to find useful information first, this takes time and dedication. It's never quick and easy. Otherwise everyone would be doing it ;)
It's like visiting a store that doesn't have anything in it, nobody wants to go there!

The best way to get visitors for your first blog would be by posting it on social media sites only. This is the best platform from where you can attain huge visitors at an instant you post it. Other than that if you are posting your blog link on high PR sites you can generate huge visitors who can rank it high within few weeks only.

Like others also told Social Networks can be good Pinterest, Stumble Upon, and Twitter. I like those 3 cause you can simply follow a lot of persons and some of them will follow you back specially if you are the same niche as them.

Bullshit and SPAM Suggestion. Write good content and simply share your content in 3-4 related popular Group and Google Plus communities. Hope it can help you to gather initial period traffic .

It is always difficult to get visitors to your website, but social media will be an easy way. But the difficulty here is they might be relevant to your site or not. So, only target a source based up on whether it is going to help you in the long run are not.
