I'm trying to study to manage a VPS, I am so confused on choosing linux VPS or windows VPS hosting, when I need a window VPS hosting?
Does any one tell me the difference?
Thanks

Windows and Linux are 2 different operating systems.

If your going to host sites written in php, you will need linux
If your going to host sites written in asp, you will need windows

If you need both, your better off using a Windows VPS with Plesk Control Panel.
This will allow you to host asp and php easily, as well as both MySQL and MSSQL

You *can* host ASP projects on a Linux based machine using Apache and Mod_Mono; the same goes for Java using Mod_Tomcat. Basically the Windows web environment was built to serve ASP and/or Java based web projects, whereas Linux is much more robust.

True, Mod_Mono will allow Apache to server asp pages, but when you get into use MVC, MSSQL, etc, your better off keeping asp.net projects on a Windows machine.

These are the two operating systems and both have their own advantages and disadvantages, personally i prefer linux when it comes to hosting.
