autoresponder is the service I pay for affiliate marketing..

there are many like aweber,getresponse etc, and other low cost affordable solutions too(PM me if you need more info on that)..
see once you get your prospects opt in to your autoresponder you can create followup emails and without you doing the work the autoresponder does the hard work for you by sending the message with your affiliate links which your prospects when clicks and likes it they buy it and you get your commission and the best part is you can do it as many times you like it and encash your cheques...

But remember to have a (personal) niche website with a free offer (Like a 3 part video course) to create your email list.
Then add as much useful value to your email list. Value info can be found on IM forums and https://www.udemy.com/
With an autoresponder you can sent this useful info to your email list, so your list members start to know, like and thrust you...
And....THEN...... you start to sent affiliate products to your list with a much higher buyers raid!
Giving useful information and affiliate offers must be in balance.
Always remember: In order to get, you have to give first!

Autoresponders are a useful tool for sure... In fact its hugely important for internet marketers... But that is not something which automates affiliate marketing... Automation is things like:

1) Automating the provision (and creation) of bonuses to people who buy through your affiliate link. The manual process is to validate the receipts manually as well as setting up bonus products and the necessary scripts for validation and secure downloading. Automation is when that is done for you in real time without requiring any manual effort..

2) Capturing the email addresses of actual buyers who purchase through your affiliate link. Affiliate platforms only provide this data to vendors. Automation is a way to grab that data whilst the customer proceeds to purchase.... or when bonus claims are made.

3) Receiving email notification on every sale you achieve... Normally that does not happen... Manually the affiliate has to keep logging into the network... Automation is getting that notification in your in-box...

Affiliate marketing automation are specific things related to affiliate marketing and the platform which its based on.... A good example is this WSO on this forum.

Email marketing is an entire discipline in itself - its bread and butter essentials... but its uses is much broader than that of supporting affiliate marketers...
