Is It better to Extend domain registrations for multiple years?

if its a core domain> extend it for as many years as you can, if its a hobby domain then depends on how long you want it.

Extending for many years can help with planning.
It shows you plan to keep the domain.
It prevents loss from forgetting to renew.

For a core domain, long renewal makes sense.
For a hobby domain, renew as needed.
Search engines do not rank sites higher just because of long renewal.

Hi there,

For anything I’m unsure about, I stick to yearly. It keeps things flexible and forces a regular review. You’d be surprised how many names feel “worth keeping” until renewal time comes around.

I know a domain is important, I lock it in for 2–3 years. It’s especially helpful for business or brand domains. For side projects though I stick with annual renewals to stay flexible.
