OpenSSL is a software library for applications that secure communications over computer networks against eavesdropping or need to identify the party at the other end. It is widely used by Internet servers, including the majority of HTTPS websites.
hope it will enough

OpenSSL is a software library for many applications, written in the C programming language that implements the SSL (secure sockets layer) and TLS (transport layer security) web security protocols.

SSL and TLS are methods for using cryptography to secure communication between two parties. Although there are some crucial differences at the technical level, they both work the same way. Hope it helps!

OpenSSL is a software library that is used with applications that make communication over the internet secure or identify the parties which send and receive information. It is mainly used by internet servers and HTTPS websites.

It is a general-purpose cryptographic library and a toolkit for SSL and TLS.

OpenSSL is open-source. It contains the open-source implementation of SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) and TLS (Transport Layer Security) protocols.

It is the core library that is written in the programming language C. It implements basic cryptographic functions and various utility functions.

Wrappers that allow the use of OpenSSL with various programming languages is available.

It is available for operating systems like Windows, Linux, macOS, BSD and other Unix-Like operating systems.

Open-source software (OSS) is computer software for which the source code is made publicly available under a license from the copyright holder which enables anyone to study, change and distribute the software for any purpose.

Open-source software is often developed collaboratively in a public manner. OpenSSL is, for example, developed by in a collaborative with just a few core personnel and is considered (surprisingly for such an important application) to be underfunded.

OpenSSL is used in email servers using the SMTP, POP and IMAP protocols, chat servers using the SMPP protocol, and most virtual private networks (VPNs) that use SSL to protect their networks.

In addition, Open SSL is used in server software such as Apache or Nginx which power about two-thirds of all websites.

I really don't understand about OpenSSL but i like using it in my cPanel, it is more easy and useful to run SSL for my websites. :)

OpenSSL proxy is very popular to clients who maintain computer networks because it helps them access electronic resources and web pages. At the same time, it helps them maintain their privacy and security since it was designed to limit malicious activities like tampering of information, eavesdropping, and message forgery. One of the features of this proxy that promotes security of clients is mutual authentication. With this feature, computer users cannot use the server unless they have a party certification. In this way, people can prevent outsiders access the proxy.

In terms of security, clients have nothing to worry since openSSL proxy uses different measures. First, the computer database has a open key that can validate or verify digital sign used by customers. Second, this application has a legitimacy period, which means that customers can no longer use the proxy after this period. Third, this proxy server has the ability to record applications used with this program.

It is a software library which helps to secure communications over network and it also secure from eavesdropping. We can use openssl to apply digital certificate and install SSL files on your server. Its all about the command lines so if you want to use, it is must to have knowledge if it.
