For making a new website which platform is best Blogger or WordPress?
For making a new website, Wordpress is better but if you are going to create a new website on their platform then Blogger is better, it is sponsored by Google.
For making money aspect, selfhost Wordpress site is better because you can easily control whatever parts on your sites without limiting features.

Wordpress has a lot of features and plugins that are helpful in designing and making your website functional. But if you decide to do write content on a simple website then choose Blogger. But since you raise a question which platform is better in gaining a profit, then better choose Wordpress because you can add new features which might be helpful to your viewers that Blogger cannot provide. Plus, the content of your site decides how much profit you deserved to receive.

If you are planning to start a website, I must say go with WordPress.
This is the best content management system in the internet world. You can do lot's of customization without knowing anything technical. There is no technical knowledge required.

With blogger, you will not have the flexibility but with WordPress, you can do whatever you want.

Wordpress is probably the best for starting up a website because it’s quick and easy.

But as for money, that shouldn’t be anyone’s top priority, it should be the customer or viewer. Make sure you’re providing to their needs, write content they care about.

Nice question!

The Blogger platform is useful when you are just about to start some informative blog to the audience. However, when you're blogging for money, building authority or branding for yourself, Blogspot might not be the ideal choice for you. This is because you're provided with limited control over visibility in Google, and also you are not allowed to add any new features you want. Having said that you're provided many limitations in terms of functionalities and SEO benefit. Also, I've heard often times that as a blogger being a Google product it is definitely going to add up some SEO advantages. However, it's a boldfaced scam. SEO works only by considering how you configure your entire website for the search engines regardless of which platform you use.

On the flip side, WordPress allows complete control over your blog, provides a lot of customization option including SEO friendly SEO plugins and also you can technically do anything you want without having to worry much about the limitations that bloggers have. You can host your files, design it in a way you like. However, getting started with WordPress might require some effort as you need to watch some related videos and learn how to add a plugin, getting used to its dashboard. With no wonder, the same applies to the blogger as well right?
And if you are planning to create a blog with the mindset of making it popular and making money from it, I suggest you, self-hosted WordPress blog is probably the best pick for you.
