Hi,

I'm trying to improve the ranking of my website. I know that link building is very important for a website to get ranking with a lot of on page and off page factors. What link building activities should I be doing on a daily basis?

As of now, I am only doing forum posting and blog commenting on a daily basis. I feel like there is more I can be doing for link building.

Buying links (this way is not recommended but it still works as a charm :) )

Of course, it is not enough for increasing rankings for your website, you can need advertising campaigns to increase traffic for your website (as buying posts on popular blog posts) that will help your SEO.

Forum posting and blog comments have no little to no effect on your rankings in the SERPs. Google filtered such links a long time ago. I think it was the Panda algo update in 2011.

Can you share a link that reported about this update in the past?
Panda was more directed to a site's content. It was the next update in 2012 called Penguin that focused on the quality of links:

By better understanding and process the types of links websites and webmasters were earning, Penguin worked toward ensuring that natural, authoritative and relevant links rewarded the websites they pointed to, while manipulative and spammy links were downgraded.

In recent years there have been significant changes in the ranking algorithms and link building has become less relevant. An active information field is one of the hundreds of ranking factors, but links from forums, social networks, site directories, news aggregators, etc., do not affect the position in search results. Usually, such links are used only to make a natural links profile of a website. Therefore, articles and reviews on reputable websites and blogs, no matter paid or not, may be suitable for link building.
