What tools are you measuring traffic of a website?

I want to know traffic of a competitor's website but I don't have their Google analytics to view their web traffic. What are the alternatives to Google analytics or what tools can I use to measure traffic of a website?

If it's a website with enough traffic, alexa is a good indicator of traffic. But it will only give you the rank of the website, and you will have to make a comparison with your website rank to estimate if you have more or less traffic.
Similarweb is build to compare websites metrics, but from my experience their estimations are not accurate. (from 10 visitors/day to 10 000...)

If you don't have the right to access their site to view analytics then you just estimate their traffic. Currently there're 2 popular tools to help you do that, Alexa and SimilarWeb. Just install their Chrome plugin and see.
