Hey Guys,

I know only BIND and used to use it my first setup with WHM, so what's the advantage of Powerdns comparing to BIND?

Please share your experience with everyone.

Thanks
David.

According to me, PowerDNS is faster and it also helps to read information from MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL and many other databases as well.

hi,

PowerDNS can read zones directly from MySQL or PostgreSQL, which is sometimes handy for ease of administration (especially if you have multiple users).

Bind is simple yet good option but PowerDNS gives you much more choice and some cool features.

BIND is simple to use and DNSSEC can be easily setup with BIND. It is not that much secure to use. BIND can read just simple configuration file. Those can be easily parsed.

PowerDNS supports various backend which can change the behavior of the server. When there are number of DNS zones that time PowerDNS is helpful. PowerDNS can read zones directly from MySQL or PostgreSQL. Administration point of view, it is very friendly. It can handle the zone changes without reload as MySQL is there.
