How to modify your WHM server's hostname

I have a VPS hosting and running many websites on it, already installed WHM/cPanel on this VPS and now I want to change hostname for WHM

for example

Code:

server.example.com

to

Code:

server.mydomain.com

and domains (accounts) are using

Code:

ns1.example.com
ns2.example.com

after change, its DNS should be and these will be new DNS for domain names

Code:

ns1.mydomain.com
ns2.mydomain.com

How can i do this in WHM? after changed, what things do I need to update to affects for server works?

I read on cPanel tutorials and they suggest to change in (Home >> Networking Setup >> Change Hostname) but I still need some advice here.

No, server host names are just labels and separate from DNS names which are also just labels.

for example you could call your server bubbles.mydomain.com but you could call it ns1.mydomain.com in the DNS zone along with any other names you want to use pointing at the correct IP.

It depends on the settings of the hostname ..if you have the server hostname as a mail server hostname for the websites hosted on your VPS , you will have to update it with the correct hostname.

Any RDNS created in association with the hostname needs to be updated correctly .

If you want to change the name servers hostname associated with the hostname then you will have to update the server name servers at your registrar end and you will need to inform the customers to update the name servers at their registrar end too..

so yeah .as mentioned earlier it all depends on the set up you have done on the cpanel server.
