Check the health of my SSD?

I want to check the status of my SSD under Centos 6.7 so which commands should I use? I think that I did a backup so I would start to check the health of my SSD. Can anyone guive me a guide?

Have you tried using smartctl?

if not its a handy tool. I can type the guide but it would be pointless when its perfectly written in the source below:
