Of course it's possible to rank for high competition kw's, but have in mind that most of sites that ranks highly for that specific kw is investing a lots of money to be in that spot. They usually have huge PBN's or agencies that they pay 1,000's of $ monthly to keep them in that spot... that's why it's not advisable to get immediately there, but to target low or mid competition kw's... at least until you gather some funds and knowledge how to rank (you don't want to spend $ and energy if you are not sure what are you doing).

The more competitive kw is the more SEO knowledge and efforts you must put in.
You'll have to make inks up to tire 3, hava a perfect interlinking and generally perfect on site seo (kw density, anchor text in interlinking...), have a great, researched authority content, biggest possible (1,500+ words), media rich.
Build web 2.0 properties and strengthen them, PBN, and so on.

For high keyword competition you need to use content optimization and link building methods, same as for others to rank your website higher in search engines. Content promotion is a good and ideal way today to build your keyword ranking faster and also maintain it on the first page in Google. Apart from that you can try out using link building techniques from high authority webpages with the use of proper anchor texts to build website ranking.

According to me whatever the keywords you choose,if we do proper SEO then keywords will be ranked for sure.It doen't matter whether they are high competited or low competited keywords.

The one only matters is Timeperiod, it just little more time to rank for high competition keywords and less time for low competition keywords, but in both cases we should follow the same(proper and white hat) SEO techniques and strategies.

1 Optimize your site for search engines.
2 Frequently update the contents of your site.
3 Take advantage of social bookmarking sites.
4 Use your Twitter and Facebook accounts.
5 Get links with other sites in your niche.
6 Go on sites like listingdock, seoclerks etc and hire some expert for it.
7 Create a free product or service.
8 Use viral content.
9 Use offline promotion.
10 Include your URL in your signature.
There is a lot of things wrong with this.. So lets break it down:

2) Frequently update the contents of your site. - This will not increase your rankings for a specific keyword. In fact it could have the opposite effect as you change the internal structure of your links i.e when using your home page as a summary of posts. In most cases you would also identify a page/post for a given keyword and would want that specific page to rank. The exception is in the case when building out silos and its clear you are not talking about that...

3) Take advantage of social bookmarking sites - these a very weak links and have zero link juice. It will do nothing to improve your rankings, especially to get on the first page on G for competitive keyword terms.

4) Use your Twitter and Facebook accounts - this has NOTHING to do with increasing your ranking on the SERPs... Social has no direct influence with rankings.

6) Sites like listingdock, seoclerks etc and hire some expert for it. - Be careful with that... Chances are you'll be buying spam links which will either do nothing or even worse have a negative effect.

7) Create a free product or service - I don't see how giving away free stuff will increase your SERP rankings. It will increase your email list if that is what you implying...

8) Viral content is social media related.. As I stated above social networking does not impact/improve your rankings on the SERPs.

9) Use offline promotion. How can being offline increase your rankings lol?

10) Include your URL in your signature - These links in most cases are nofollow and will do nothing.... besides these too are also very weak links.

As you can see most of everything you have stated does nothing to help the OP.

IF having a thing to rank for HIGH competition keywords I think it could be QUALITY backlink which will help you outrank other websites and improve your search rankings dramatically.

Hi elcidofaguy, as you said social media like twitter and facebook and social bookmarking sites are not helping not increase SERP on google search engine. My question is that is there any other on page or server side technique that work to rank for high competition keywords?

It's a horrible thing, but if you can:
# Do onpage seo perfectly.
# Do guest posting and get contextual backlinks
# Get huge quality multi-tier links, like:
Your site<--- 100 web2.0 [(500 word per article, place 2/3 trustworthy sites)(post 5/6 articles for every web2.0 with niche images/videos)]<--high authority profile site links+social bookmarking+blog comment links <----social bookmark<---indexer

# Do Press release submission
# Do Article submission
# Do Infographic submission
# Do Wiki submission
# Get Answer question links
# Get dofollow Forum links
# Get contextual links from quality PBN
