Where did internet marketers get their free products?

After some searching on forums I realized that some internet marketers had about 15 free software products or even higher.
My question is where and how can you get free products to use for launches or bonuses for your products. what is the secret behind this?

Just search google for free plr and you will find plenty sites offering free software etc. Just rebrand it and edit it a wee bit and off you go.
