I've heard that Kitty is the branch of Putty.

But what makes them different ?

For which things you use putty and for which kitty ?

Most of the people use Putty to connect to the server but KiTTY has some additional features like:-

Shortcuts for pre-defined command
Quick start of a duplicate session
New command-line options
