Hi guys!

Do you know where I can avail a cheap VPS that is based in Germany? I would like to set up any lightweight OS that can run Firefox 24/7. It will browse different websites and cycle through them 24/7.

Are there cheap Germany VPS that has the specs to handle that kind of software requirements?

Thanks!

There are alot of them, webtropia, hetzner, contabo and many more. Servdiscount.com and hetzner has cheapest dedicated server if you care about resource.

As you know VPS is limited by the resource, cpu/ram/hdd as because its hosted in the node who is maybe selling more then 50 virtual machines. And for a little more bucks you can get a dedicated server with dedicated resource used only by you and not shared with others.

Try HostInc if you need a cheap Germany VPS server. Their plans are budget-friendly, set up quickly for me, and performance has been pretty stable till now.

Nobody here touched the actual constraint, which is not the price but what a browser does to a small box. Firefox rendering real pages sits somewhere around 300 to 500MB per window once a few sites have loaded, and it climbs over a long session, so on a 1 or 2GB plan the OOM killer takes it out after a few hours and the loop stops with nothing obvious in the logs to explain it. Running it headless under Xvfb, capping open tabs, and restarting the process on a schedule matters far more than which provider you pick.

The other thing to check before paying is the acceptable use policy. A machine cycling through websites around the clock looks like bot traffic from the outside, and the cheap plans are where that gets flagged first. What are you doing with the pages once they load?

Rather than choosing purely on price, I’d look at what kind of backup and support infrastructure a VPS provider offers, and hostpro has done well in these areas for me. Their daily backups cover all services and can be used to recover data following damage, failed updates, or hacking incidents. Another positive is their qualified technical support, which operates 24/7 and provides assistance with questions free of charge.
