Sucuri alternatives?

I used sucuri to scan malware and virus on my Wordpress file and it worked effectively, but to go further with advanced options, i need to go with paid version and it need a long period to solve problem, I am not sure it can. Are there any alternatives to sucuri that I can use on my VPS hosting to scan problem on my WP sites or tools to install on Wordpress for better secure and scan malware?

It's not a wordpress plugin, but if you are looking to search a linux VPS or Dedicated Server or whatever for Malware I'd recomend "Linux Malware Detect" by R-fx Networks.

It's free, easy to use, and will scan php files for backdoors and base64 encoded data.

You can use wordfence scanning plugin for WP site, its best one. it will give you compete report about detected files. Also there is option to restore any wordpress file from original. You don't need to upload it manually.

You own a server/VPS or you host wensite on some shared environments? If its shared, you should have less control on the hosting server - in such case your best bet is to rely on some security plugins like wordfence and try the generic options to secure your Wordpress [ like protect login URL, keep everything updated, remove unnecessary plugins/themes, etc ] . If you own server, try some scanner like MalDet, ClamAV with additional signature, free WAF etc since you are looking for free solution. Please note that you should have some server management skills to do it.
