Firstly do you using Reddit as a source of traffic?

Secondly, Hows it been doing for you?

In my case, in one week my traffic spike 25% from a post I made on Reddit, I was lucky enough to receive multiple upvotes.

How do you use it in terms of marketing?

Thanks for that Alex, ill give them a read.

Did you receive any traffic spikes when posting a link on Reddit? Or was the spikes not large enough to warrant the time you spent?

As my experience and web analytic then I didn't have any traffic from Reddit when posting my articles on it. I like getting traffic from niche forums and social networks like Facebook, Google+ or Twitter.

I have a tip for you OP.

Join Skype groups focusing on Reddit up-voting your link. It's simple, you join a such Skype group, first you upvote other peoples links, and then they return the favor, it's effective and easy.

To stay under the Reddit radar, you must post other links too, from other authority sites, like Mashable, news sites, funny images, gifs in order to gain Karma.

I write for a gaming website and every time I publish an article I go to reddit and submit it to the gaming section. The traffic is basically a hit or miss, as sometimes I get a few views and sometimes the article ends up with hundreds or even thousands.

It can be difficult to please the Reddit community and they are quick to shoot you down if you look like spam, so make sure you're actively sharing other links as well.

When you post your link, your Title must be interesting to attract the community.

I posted a link about an Adobe Flash Player article I wrote and it blew up on Reddit. Gave me a 400% traffic boost the day of the post and so far a 200% today. Just posted another link for todays article, hoping it will be just as successful.

It definitely does seem a bit hit and miss though.

If you're already posting to reddit you can add our ad unit which will show as soon as a user is redirected to your website

I was using it but most of time mods remove my content so start posting my content in right section and get good traffic on my site.

Thanks that you mention reddit, I will use it again within next few days.

I found reddit too difficult for long term traffic. Their users are unforgiving, moderators like to ban repeated / unknown / new domain submissions. On good days I was able to go viral a few times, only to get my domain banned because "it's not reputable enough". Sigh.
