Server monitoring software

Hi all, need some expert help please!
So, currently I am outsourcing monitoring and software support for my Hosting server. I now think that I am equipped to handle it on my own.
Firstly, what is the most straight forward and simple to use monitoring software that can be implemented lightning fast?
Secondly, what will best practices be when regaining control from an outside source?

Are you thinking to build your own or? Since hetrixtools has all what you need and it is free. You can install their linux agent script to monitor cpu, raid/disks, ram, network etc.

Offers great flexibility and a vast range of features, while being free and open-source. However, setting it up might require some technical knowledge.

If you are looking for straight forward and quick implement software, here are several option:
Nagios.
Zabbix.

I swear by Zabbix way more than I probably should, to be honest, but it is just so very useful and easy to use (once you get the right template going)
I have this popped in on a VPS, and it's all I need. To be honest, it's much better than paying for someone else's software to do the same thing (cheaper , too )

OpenNMS: OpenNMS is another free and open-source monitoring solution that can be used to monitor servers, networks, applications, and infrastructure. It offers a wide range of features, including real-time monitoring, historical data analysis, and alerting.

We have been using Hetrixtools for some time, it has been satisfactory and we have not seen any problems with it.
I suggest you give it a try.
