I pretty much exclusively use Notepad++ for web development. Sublime is pretty cool, too. For Python, I use PyCharm and for C++ I use Visual Studio. I tried using others for C++. Hate to say it but Microsoft's product is just far better. I wish they still maintained Dev++ :(

Notpad +++ is good enough for me if I have to do some HTML/CSS editing but I don't do much of front-end work. I am a Python developer and for Python development I use the Jupyter Notebook (used to be called iPython Notebook) which I highly recommend if anyone is interested in working with Python .

I am making use of Atom exclusively, while running Fedora as my OS.

Brackets is good but often gets frozen when you are using Linux as your OS, otherwise would be also a good alternative.

Dreamweaver is a good software for web developers but professional web developer will not use it because it used to insert unwanted tags into codes
I would recommend notepad++ or sublime for code editors.

I used to work with Adobe's Dreamweaver back in the days (2005).

Now I use Brackets (http://brackets.io/) which free & open source. It uses less memory when compared to Dreamweaver & other code editors.

As a full-time web designer I can recommend a few IDE's: Sublime Text, Atom & Brackets. I've used all three for various amounts of time and they all do their job amazingly. I've also been recommended to try WebStorm by JetBrains who develop PHPStorm, apparently it's meant to be building some momentum to become one of the website editors.

Have you tried to open a sql file 500 MB with this tool? :D

I will check Brackets out. :)

Sometimes Dreamweaver generates unwanted codes, this is one of reasons that I didn't like it although I still am using it for any purposes.

I use notepad ++ to edit my html, css, javascript. It has an easy to use interface, with plenty of options, and regular updates.
