Vps is far superior to a regular re-seller account. One very simple fact its a Vprivate server. Yes you can argue that its more expensive but compare to the control and flexibility of use that a moot point. I recommend not going to a re-seller account if you already have a manage vps , just try to upgrade your specs and try to get some necessary licenses such as cloudlinux, softaclous,WHMCS etc. If you want to reduce cost go for an unmanaged server.

I would say this depends on your experience

If you know how a server works then a VPS would always be best but if your just starting out then i would suggest a reseller packages as you get all the support you need on a reseller account form your host

Here are more details for you - https://forumweb.hosting/15837-when-should-i-use-reseller-hosting.html

Reseller service -

If you are new to the hosting filed and you would like to manage your customers by third party then you can have the reseller service. Your client will feel that you have your server and managing it by yourself. Reseller service provides you the platform for selling the shared hosting services to your clients or when you would like to host multiple accounts with their separate panel on the same server then you can have the reseller service. Under it, you can create your own packages and can assign them to your accounts as per the requirement of the account.

Drawback of it is that , you won't have the root access . Reseller service has the root access with your hosting provider. You can not manage it by your own.

Advantages of VPS service-

1. Management of VPS - If you are familiar with hosting field then you can have the VPS as it is managed by yourself.
2. Root Access - It's your own server, you have the root user access for it.
3. TOS - You can define the terms of services for your clients on VPS.
4. Resources - You will have the full resource allocation as it's your server. You can utilize it for your server as you wish.

Hope this will clarify the use of reseller service

VPS : u have full control, but u need to have some experience to handle the server. Costs are way higher, and things can break easily.

Reseller : Limited control, but easy to handle, and cheap

If you are a web professional such as a Web Designer or Web Developer then web hosting can be an attractive form of additional recurring revenue for your business.

As long as you offer a good hosting solution to them which is fast and reliable then the chances are that you can develop a predictable, long term additional revenue stream for your business.

To manage A Reseller Account is easy as compare to VPS Hosting Account. But If you have high traffic on your websites then you can go with VPS Hosting otherwise reseller hosting is best for you.

In my opinion I would advise a VPS, because if you use CPanel will have the freedom of yourself to carry out transfers of accounts.

You will also have root access and this will give you freedom, also today the prices are very balanced, but as you have said here already. A VPS requires a good Configuration :)

I am not sure why you are interested to go for a reseller. VPS is more powerful and you have more control on your hosting accounts. You can minimize or maximize any extra features that you need but in case of reseller hosting, there is no option or something like this. As you are currently having some VPSs, you won't feel good with reseller because you can not explore as like a VPS.

A VPS is "better" than a Reseller account in terms of resources/features however it's not necessarily better for your specific needs. If you don't need the added resources/features of a VPS such as running your own kernel then a Reseller account may suit you just fine. Reseller accounts are generally significantly cheaper too. So ultimately the answer is...it depends on what you need.
