It totally depends on which type of customers you have and your server management skills. Reseller hosting service will be shared hosting service with the limited access.

The profit is based on your business model. If you have very small set of customers, good to go with a reseller hosting. A reseller server should be well maintained and you do not need to worry about the licenses, hardware or any other factors affecting server stability. With a reputed host, they will take care of it for you. But if you go with a VPS [ managed / unmanaged ], you will have to spend more time and effort to manage it along with the increase in cost for the platform. Still you can think about VPS, once your clientbase grows more than that can afford in a reseller plan.
