I really dislike shared hosting but it's a great starting point while you're setting up your website. I have noticed that my website gets CPU throttled daily and at most I get 20 posts a day on my forum. Which is very discouraging, because what's going to happen when I get more members on my forum. So I am about to move to Linode soon anyone have any experience with them?

Linode is a good choice to migrate from shared hosting. There are other good alternatives like digitalocean, Vultr or OVH. Both of them provide server with good performance and availability.

If IaaS-style VPS is your preference, some other recommendations come to mind before Linode...Have you considered Limestone Networks?

It seems pretty expensive for Ceph storage based on SAS disks + SSD.

Well I am all moved over to Linode and I couldn't be happier. My old host is a really good host but my website runs Wordpress, Xenforo and a Wordpress~Xenforo bridge. And its very resource heavy and I kept hitting the CPU limit with my old web host. But I don't have any complaints it was a good stepping stone going with the shared hosting, it allowed me to totally focus on building the website.

P.S. I have been watching the CPU on my Linode and it hasn't gone past 40% no matter how many people are on the website.
