When you purchase a domain, your name, address and contact information is also published online. Normally, this leaves you open to stalkers, identity theft, fraud, and spam. By paying for domain privacy, which is usually $10 a year, your identity will not be shown.
Do you pay web hosts for domain privacy or is it okay with you even if your contact info is shown online? Also, why do they allow hosting companies to publish our contact information for everyone to see? Shouldn't there be autonomic privacy and confidentiality? I consider this a sly scheme for hosting companies to make more money. :bash:
What are your thoughts?
