I got an email from Google adwords, get $150 when you spend $150 and I want to spend money for Google adwords. I want to promote my business at local online market, but confused about leads, is google ads good for sales, or ads for just promotion and increasing traffic?

Yes, it's good. However it also depends on your ad content, your target audiences, your market and your competitors. If you do all well, I think you will get leads easily.

Google adwords can benefit your sales for sure, but it depends on lots of things a lot of small businesses are not sure about using google ads cause it's quite expensive. My advice would be to do some research in your niche check out ads of your competitors if there are any choose specific keywords and do some low budget test runs, you can ask someone who has lots of experience with adwords to help you out, if you have a friends who had some conversions through google ads they can give you a tip or two.

Placing ads on Google Adwords make you on top of the search results during the ad placement duration, increase your chances of attracting visitors on your website but comes with a price. Since Google enjoys the largest following, ad costs more compared with placing ads with other search engines line BING or YAHOO!

Another option is placing ads with Facebook where you can select your demographic profille like age, industry, market, etc.

I suggest you check out the ad costs for comparison purposes and be in a better position to make a good selection decision. This move will be effective only if you believe you have a great site, good contents but not attracting enough or right visitors. Otherwise, you go back and re-evaluate your site and see if improvements can be made first to achieve your SEO.

Google Ads completely depends on the keyword search volume of the keywords you are bidding to while running Google Ads. So it's always recommended to look for a overall keyword search volume and run Google Ads for your brand related keywords. Hope this helps.
I generally follow kuware.com for Marketing related info.

I think it's too expensive, I'd rather try social media advertising.

There is no simple answer to this question - it depends on your business, your products or services, your goals, and a variety of other factors. Ultimately, you will need to experiment with different approaches and see what works best for you.

Leads are valuable, but what do you do with them? Google ads are one way to acquire leads. They can help you identify potential customers and keep in touch with them. Google ads can also help you learn about your competition and improve your marketing efforts.
