How to Select the Best Hosting Automation Software Solution?

Hosting automation software is gaining popularity in the recent times. The hosting companies are fast realizing the importance of employing such sophisticated software to support their business growth, as they expand in size and the number of customers catered. With numerous customers on their servers, the web hosting companies in this day and age find it a bit challenging to effectively cater to all their support requests in a timely manner. It cannot just be pretty expensive for them but it can also put their brand value at stake in case of any inefficiency reflected in the support they offer to their customers.

These are some of the criteria, based on which, we believe you can make a choice of the hosting automation software. We would like you to share our experiences and opinions on what else you believe should be factored in.

WHMCS is by far the most popular. To me the interface is a bit cluttered, but it has an amazing amount of documentation and modules/addons that makes it suitable for most needs.

Blesta is a cleaner and cheaper alternative, but lacks plugins. I use blesta for my site!

I have to agree on this. WHMCS is very popular tho i currently do not like the recent update they did with the licensing they also dont offer owned licences anymore. So if you are looking for something you can buy one time whmcs is not the solution anymore.

I am still not sure what you are referring to . But hopefully I can give you some usually information. Yes automation is now even more so important as customers want now response or action taken immediately . The fact of the matter hosting providers now need software for pretty much every thing from create accounts to even auto response of ticket queries. In my experience why we got automated, is simple I had to hire more man power than we could afford just to keep up with the demand for time. We were also losing touch with our customers as we were focused on solving customer problem in speed vs true customer care.This was a double edge sword as some customer did not like manner in which they were treated and left. With the advent of WHMCS and Cloudlinux we can focus more on customers needs.

WHMCS allow us to create,generate billing and automate billable and ticket support etc.

Cloudlinux allows us some room to managing our server as to not a single customer take us down.

please be more clearer and I can provide more experience if needed.

First I though automation software by some artificial intelligence type software to control support tickets.

Now I got they are talking about billing system. Well instacarma you cannot automate support tickets for now, yes you can automate the billing and orders for that WHMCS is best.

Yes, WHMCS is probably the easiest solution for beginners, cause of huge amounts of video and other tutorials + the biggest variety of add-ons.

As for me, I usually like to test out as much services/products as possible to find the best fit at the best prices.
Some alternatives to WHMCS if you're interested:
BILLmanager by ISPsystem - it's even free for up to 50 clients, and the paid versions are also cheaper that WHMCS.
Boxbilling - I don't have any positive experiences with it, unfortunately, but seems also a good deal for starters, cause of their free plan + the pro plan is like 3 times cheaper that WHMCS's cheapest plan.

There are also other options out there, but I'm suggesting to check out those listed above. :smart:

Indeed, WHMCS is one of the more common options for web hosts. However, if you're on a tight budget, I suggest taking a look at Blesta.

Boxbilling has many security flaws and various system bugs, and it seems that parent company Hosting24 (Hostinger) is dropping support almost completely. It functions and is well worth the price (if you can't fit another solution into your budget), but I would not recommend it.
