Web hosting promotion through articles?

I think the the most easy way to get free traffic on your hosting website is to submit your own written articles on different web hosting websites. Visitors daily read useful articles and ready to visit author's website if they feel they are useful for them. I want to do the same but when I connect to website owners they often refused my suggestion, even I wanted to pay for articles on their sites. Where are the reasons? How do you promote your articles on other hosting sites? Is it possible?

Yes it is possible however I have not found it to be as useful as you think. We have had may be 1-2 says from articles. It is mostly used as a SEO method rather than advertisement.
Always make sure the money you are offering is compatible with the website's visitors and the relation that website has to your hosting.
I recommend blogs as they have a much better connection and trust with their visitors.
