Hi Mihai

Those are all good points to look for when choosing a reseller provider.

Most providers offer 99% uptime these days but sometimes this is not exactly true, you never truly know the uptime until you have used the service for a month or so.
Their are free solutions that will monitor if your site(s) is online 24/7/

New providers are not always bad, they often value your business more and provide a more personal service than you would get with the big firms.

Money back promise is essential when using a new provider, if things are not good you want to jump ship (with your money)
One thing I would add to your list is domain registration, you need to be able to register domains for customers.

My biggest thing above all others is the support, not so much for people with a technical IT background but if you can't do site migrations, modify dns records, fix domain problems, install SSL certs etc you will be depended on your host.

You always hear about support and up time which are very important however what you should really concern you self with is the provider's servers. whether they over sell or not, whether their load time can satisfy your customers as remember you dont have a say in it, therefore it is important that you test their speed.

If you are a new reseller and have not used reseller then as I mentioned support is also very important, check the support speed by asking pre-sale questions or test their knowledge.

Where you need to looking for is the following. What is your buget to spend monthly/yearly, you need atleast disk space 15gb to besure for people who might upload huge contents. Bandwith must nit lower as 50gb, i recommed to get 100gb montly. As every standard reseller do you have always unkimited features like, mysql, domains, email and so on. 99,9% uptime is very important, do also a IP test of the server where the server is located. Monthly backups is mostly default and make sure you get a reseller where you have a secured cPanel/WHM which make your clients trusting on your service, its important. DDoS protection is also usefull otherwise you can use CloudFlare who helps you to prevent your website for DDoS, most dossers look where you NS running on. And not to forget 24/7 support. Unlimited cPanel accounts is also good to have that somwthing that not the biggest problem is but its better to have that because some reseller offer 25 cpanel accounts and then you must upgrade to a bigger plan for mostly $4 a $5 per upgrade but if you have one with unlimited cPanel account is always better. If you have 100 cpanel accounts is also good. I rather always unlimited then you not need to upgrade fast.

Always look for the possibility to buy more ip's inevitably one or more of your customers will want SSL and will need an IP.

Unless your with a hosting provider that uses outdated operating systems, dedicated IP's are not required. SNI solved this problem.

Yes of course we know " Server Name Indication" exists however it doesn't help hosts that need Centos5 still (you would be surprised how many hosts are still using that...) as well there are more than just the SSL justification to want a dedicated IP.

As I said "providers that use outdated operating systems"
Most other requests for dedicated IP's are due to SEO myth's and misinformed customers, their is almost zero need for dedicated IP's anymore. Concern about black listing being one.

I'm sure the other members would be interested in hearing your reasons why a dedicated IP is justified/required with a reseller plan ?

Well, emails a big one... if you sit on a shared IP emails sent from those tend to end up in the junk mail folder of recipients. Dedicated Ip's help prevent that (not totally but they help)

There are several factors that a subscriber has to consider before signing up for a reseller hosting plan. The type of the reseller hosting plan that is required, the cost of hosting, the terms and conditions, the extent of support that is offered by the web host in the reseller plan. One thing to take note is many webhosting providers claim that they provider free domain account which means that only the domain account is free but if a reseller needs a domain name then it will be charged according to the cost of that particular domain extension.

Recently, I have been thinking a lot about resellar hosting. I have hosted my websites with namecheap and name cheap also offer reseller account. While I am paying $78 per year for hosting my 10 websites, a reseller hosting with 25 account will cost $29 per month. At this moment, this is beyond my budget. I am looking for other hosting companies that have cheaper rate than the namecheap for reseller accounts. Apart from price, my other considerations will be reputation and support. I will never go with a company that came up recently and I will never choose company with a bad support system.

In order to compete in the market, most web hosting companies are already offering affordable web site hosting plan. As a matter of fact, one can right away find quality affordable web site hosting plan or packages in the internet in just a matter of few minutes.

The problem is not finding web hosting companies in the market.
The problem is to know that if that company will be in the market in the next year.
Clients demands everything for nothing. Hosting prices are really ultra low.

You can't judge a hosting company truly until you use their services. There are many external ways to judge them but nothing always works perfectly. Reputation is a big factor in this industry but you won't get always expected service & support from a reputed company. There are many new companies who are serious about your business. They really care about you. Selling reseller hosting is not much profitable as like shared hosting. But in case of reseller hosting, clients expect more after sales support rather than shared hosting clients do actually.

Thanks for the information. I never thought of possible considerations in choosing a reseller account. But I have these few important tips to have in mind.
1. providers reviews (very essential)
2. support type that you get
3. Free Billing system
then I am ready to go.

To judge a hosting company is not so easy. In hosting industry support play a very important role. When you want to select the hosting company always check reviews, talk to their support team which type of support they provide, ask about free billing system and don't forget to ask about location.

24x7 quality support is necessary factor while selecting the hosting service. Make sure as reseller, you have access to necessary WHM features and SSH access.

As reseller -

1. You should able to create, edit, remove the reseller hosting sub-accounts from the WHM.
2. You should have rights to create the packages for your reselller service as per you need.
3. You should able to modify the packages when needed.
4. You should have access for adding the DN records such as A record, TXT record, MX records.
5. You should be permitted to set the email account limits.
6. You should have access to white-list and blacklist the email accounts from the cPanel.
7. You should have access to check the email logsof the email accounts , error logs of the sites.

For me the very first factor to consider in choosing a reseller account is check client reviews. Try to find out what client's reviews about the hosting company that you want to choose. Research about the good reviews and see if there are also the not so good one. From there you can weigh if its good to push through with it or not.
