Best ways to monetize your games site?

For a few years now I ran a flash game site that has around 6000 visitors each month with 11000 flash games on it. The revenue from Adsense with 300x250 and 468x60 banners from this site is very low and it didn't generate a lot of income. I decided to sell the site but I would know if some one succeeded with games site, give me any advice how to develop and monetizing your games site?

I have used content lockers on game sites before with plenty of success. Just have to make sure the locker is easy enough to complete, otherwise people will leave without playing the games.

Personally I would not of relied on Adsense as a primary means of income... In this case I would of focused on building a list through offering bonuses to signup to a highly relevant newsletter i.e. offer cheat sheets, tactics etc for popular games... In addition I would promote affiliate products which are highly related to gaming i.e. wow user guide etc... through the list as well as banner ads...

Gaming websites now a days are a little hard to monetize, most people using them probably have some type of ad blocker installed.
I haven't really had any flash gaming websites in a long time ( well at least not ones that i actually keep updated and current ). Adsense probably still is one of the best ways (yahoo publisher was better when it was around), there are also a few dedicated gaming ad networks EpicGameAds comes to mind when I think of them.

For positioning of ads I always found leaderboard ad units above and below the actual game worked pretty good, just make sure you leave a big enough gap between the ad and the game so you don't get accidental clicks and get in trouble with ad networks.

To monetize games site, the easy way is to write content related to renowned games hacks/ mods. Also use content locker to gain the benefit of free seekers. You can use this social locker for the purpose.

I think best way: CPA-networks or AdSense.

Content Offers (Pin Submits ) and adsense usually work well in this type of niche
