What convinces you to click on a banner ad?

Normally, I read the text of an advertisement and if it is showing me any good offers, then I might take a minute to check out the ad.

For banner ads, I read text and look at the banner ad. If it was a professional image with good offers showing on, then I can click on it.

What are some of the reasons that influence whether or not you click on a banner ad?

Well, I am sort of a Robin Hood in this manner.

When I see an ad anywhere on Google, I do not click it, I search up the term in said advertisement, then find them using organic search results. It's my way of getting even haha. Plus I save the advertiser money as not too many people do this. (I would assume anyway)

I also encourage anyone I know to do this, as they make way to much anyway. Example: type Godaddy in Google and 3 Ads appear (Sometimes 1, sometimes 1 + 4 ad snippets). Godaddy is paying $1-2+ a click. But they don't care as it's a tax right off anyway but the little guys care. Its money out of their pocket.

If I see a banner ad on a website such as this forum that grabs my attention I will click on it without having to search for them to allow profits to be made. Thus supporting the future of said website while being reasonable to their advertisers.

See, I support the little to mediocre websites and businesses. :)

I think you are an advanced user hence you knew which is advertising on google search which came from organic search...so that you will not click ads on google search results, but for normal users, they could not distinguish that. they still click on ad..it is still more benefits for advertisers..right..?

Clicking on advertising totally depends on the interest. It is more like eating the most favorite dish and you need to like it most.

I'll always read the text (headline) of banner. If it's something that interested me, or something that I want, I'll click on it.

I'll prefer banner that are simple, not too much graphics and text, I like the banner that make me know what is it about once I lay my eyes on it.

I always look at banners to check out the design, but I very rarely click on them.

If it is something that grabs my interest I'll click on it. More likely to click one from a website than I am on Google engine though.
