In my opinion, the most important factor in buying a dedicated server is its processor.
The rest such as storage space, RAM, network port, and traffic can be upgraded, but if your CPU is not enough, you have to migrate to a new server.

Readily accessible IPMI access is important.

Nobody wants to have to wait for a data center tech to manually attach a KVM when they have a server go down.
