I want to move my current VPS to a better server with 16GB or 24GB of RAM, there are some hosting providers are offering cloud server or dedicated server with these specs. Should I choose Cloud hosting or Dedicated server for my websites?

Check out EasySpace (https://www.easyspace.com/dedicated-servers) UK Hosted and affordable solutions, other than that I would +1 OVH & SYS, check TOS with Hetzner before you purchase, they stick to the TOS to the letter, other than that - great service.

It depends on you, to be honest. I mean if you want to host your websites on physical servers, go for dedicated. But if you are open to hosting it on the service provider's environment cloud is a good option. Btw, how many websites do you have @Chris Worner? You can definitely look at OVH, Hetzner for good servers and lower prices. Speaking of which ResellerClub is providing dedicated at USD 90 /month with the specifications you are talking about. Cloud servers are even lower price range with the provision to scale per your requirements. But do exercise caution while going through their terms and conditions.

A dedicated server is a single server and you use all its resources such as RAM, HD and processor because it is physically dedicated to you. It is more expensive than the cloud server. Whereas a cloud network is a cluster of any servers and each cloud server within the network is distinguished virtually with some software. There may be a cloud network of 3 physical servers which make 5 cloud servers.

When it comes to pricing. Dedicated server you have to pay the money no matter how much you use it where as in cloud its pay as per usage model

Given the option, I would do dedicated servers. But genuine cloud servers are nothing to be sneezed at, as they allow a lower investment level, not just in time getting it setup, configured and administrated, but also in the cash outlay.

As you are using another service instead of building your own in a local NOC, I would go with the cloud option, and then move to a local dedicated server solution in a tier one backbone connected facility.

That said, that's where I am; what I am focusing on doing, myself. So I am probably biased, as it has already been my plan. ;)

Both has its own pros and cons. However, if you have a big website with huge traffic. Opting for dedicated hosting will be an good idea, as it will give more power and performance.

Some companies offers "CLOUD DEDICATED SERVERS" , you might want to look for it. Instead of just comparing with cloud hosting or dedicated servers.

You should definitely go for dedicated server, a CLOUD is a rippof as KVM/XEN which is somehow dedicated resource, while there is still a shared resource from one dedicated machine with others.

Both cloud and dedicated servers have advantages and disadvantages. If your company is tiny or medium-sized, you should host your website or web app on a cloud server. Cloud computing gives you high scalability, flexibility, and security. In addition, you do not have to pay any additional fees, unlike with a dedicated cloud server. Because of its exceptional characteristics, even large corporations migrate their online operations to cloud computing.

In my opinion it depends mainly on you + Money. As for choosing a hosting service, it depends on your website - if it's e-commerce, Ram should be preferred

What is cloud server and dedicated server?

Instead of hosting the webpage on actual computers, the cloud servers create a virtual environment with several servers to give space and storage for the webpage. A cloud-based server, in simple terms, uses many virtual machines to provide high power and scalability.

A typical server includes a dedicated server as a component. Because the concept of a cloud server was introduced, the term "dedicated server" was employed. A user can acquire a shared or reserved space on the server to host his or her website in a typical cloud. In a shared server, multiple customers use the same server; for example, if the server has 1TB of storage, the service provider will provide the customer.

With traditional web hosting, you have only one web server with predefined resources and there is a predefined price for that dedicated server. Cloud hosting is a sort of web hosting that uses several virtual servers rather than just one. This will help to balance the traffic load on your website and increase the uptime of your site.

Cloud hosting and dedicated hosting are two different types of web hosting. Cloud hosting is a newer type of hosting that has become more popular in recent years. Dedicated hosting is a more traditional form of hosting that has been around for many years.

Cloud hosting is a type of web hosting where the website is hosted on a remote server. This means that the website is not hosted on a single physical server, but instead is spread out over multiple servers. This makes cloud hosting ideal for businesses that experience high traffic levels or have unpredictable traffic patterns.

Dedicated hosting is a type of web hosting where the website is hosted on a single physical server. This means that the website is only hosted on one server and is not spread out over multiple servers like with cloud hosting. Dedicated hosting is ideal for businesses that have static websites or do not experience high levels of traffic.
