Have you ever opted for a hosting plan that advertised 'unlimited' or 'unmetered' bandwidth? I'm curious to know about your real-world experiences. Did you find these terms to be genuinely limitless, or were there unexpected limitations when your website experienced high traffic or increased data usage?

In the hosting industry, truly unlimited resources are challenging to provide due to infrastructure and cost constraints. It's all marketing.

Hosting providers that offer 'unlimited' or 'unmetered' bandwidth have certain terms of service that outline acceptable usage policies. In practice, these terms may allow for generous amounts of bandwidth, but there would still be limits or restrictions hidden in the fine print. Some providers might employ fair usage policies or restrictions on certain types of content or activities that use excessive resources.

Unmetered or unlimited should be truly limitless, which means that the traffic will never slow down even with the high utilization, but on the other hand i.e. when you have a VPS with the advertised 125 Mbps and unlimited/unmetered traffic, that means that with such a speed you will not transfer more than approximately 40TB of data per month.
