Dear Web Hosting members,

I have received private messages from members on this forum, told me they have not known how to post their signature on ForumWeb.Hosting

So I write a simple post to guide you how to add and show your signature on this forum.

Firstly, you need to have 10 posts to activate signature function on your profile as following images

Go to your profile page https://forumweb.hosting/usercp.php
Click on Edit Signature

Add your desired signature

After added content in your signature in the profile page, go to a thread that you want to show your signature, click on Go Advanced at Quick Reply box

Scroll down Additional Options as image below, tick on Show your signature and make a Reply on thread you chose.

All done,

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the info regarding how to activate signature with step by step instruction including snapshot of it. Which is really helpful to new users like me.

Note: While reading Forum Guidelines, I have found that registered members can activate their signature after completing their 10 posts. And As per this thread, it said 20 posts, which one is correct?

Forum Guidelines,
=>Members can have their signatures once they are registered and have at least 10 posts.
=>To activate Signature in your Usercp, You must make 10 posts first.

Sorry, FWH updated forum rules and decreased from 20 posts to 10 posts to activate forum signature

So, 10 posts is correct!

Thanks for letting me know and I updated my post content above.

Tommy

10 posts is good number to show the signature. Thanks forum admin. This is my first post in the forum. Happy to join this site.

It really looks like this forum goes out of its way to not show the signature.

Even if you do have a signature, by default it won't be shown unless you specifically select the option to 'show your signature', which is usually on by default on most other forums.

A lot of the times I actually forget to check that box and I have to go back and edit the post to include my signature.

Is there (going to be) any option to just show your signature by default?

Thanks Nick for letting me know about this!

I also felt inconvenient when someone must click on "Go advanced" to add signature to the forum. I will add this option back to "Quick reply" box for some days more....Working on it.

Honestly I removed this option (show your signature) in "Quick Reply" box in the past to avoid spammers, auto machines came the forum to create auto posts and have their signature.

So, I think we are having a good forum with great members hence that's should be added back the forum and members don't need to consume a little time to click "Go Advanced" to add the signature to every their posts/replies any more.

If the spammers find this forum through scrapers, you can just change the wording. Instead of "Show your signature" you can use something like "Display my signature" and use Cyrillic/Greek characters for 'а', 'е' etc.

This will not work if spammers and auto machines see the option on Reply box, it will be selected automatically.
If wanted, I could add a captcha at reply box but I didn't because it is not convenient for members when everyone post replies.

It really looks like this forum goes out of its way to not show the signature.
If that was the case then this forum wouldn't allow people to have signature with only 10 posts. Most good forums require more posts or other strict requirements to have signatures. This one is very easy to get signature privileges.

Even if you do have a signature, by default it won't be shown unless you specifically select the option to 'show your signature', which is usually on by default on most other forums.
When I had my own vBulletin forums in the past the show signature was not checked by default and it has to be changed by the admin because that's how it comes from vBulletin at least up to vBulletin 4.

Other forum that you might have see it showing signatures by default were either changed by the admin or possible using a different forum software. XenForo's default is to show the signatures by default.

I used to have to select it but it seems to be checked by default now.

Hi, everyone! :) Is there now an option to edit or not to show signatures, or they are added automatically to each message that a member posts?
